Technology
Quality Care with Cutting-Edge Technology
Advanced dental technology makes patient visits more convenient, less time consuming, and more pleasant overall.
We use a number of tools and highly technical machines to capture detailed images of a patient’s teeth and mouth that give us an extremely accurate picture of their oral health. Specialized tools assist us in diagnosing all types of issues, from cavities to gum disease and more. Dental technology makes certain dental treatments more efficient and less invasive, reducing discomfort and healing time.
Digital X-Rays:
When it comes to a patient’s oral health, the more information we can get the better. Digital X-rays help us see what is not visible to the naked eye and are much safer than the traditional film-X-rays of years ago. With digital X-ray, the images are quite detailed and can be enlarged without distortion or blurring. Additionally, the X-ray images are available immediately, so the dentist does not have to wait any time to review them and share the results with the patient.
Carivu – non-radiation cavity detector:
Carivu technology allows our doctors to detect dental decay before it is visible to the naked eye. Detecting cavities early means we can intervene long before significant damage is done, saving our patients time and keeping costs to a minimum.
Intraoral Camera:
This small instrument, about the size of a large pen, makes it easy for us to take high-resolution pictures of the inside of a patient’s mouth. The images are available instantaneously to show and share. This means that the patient can see exactly what the dentist is referring to as they explain their findings and therefore make more informed decisions about any treatments they need.
iTero Digital Scanner:
A digital scanner works like a more sophisticated intraoral camera, allowing us to capture highly accurate 3D images of teeth and gums. The images we get from the iTero Digital Scanner are compatible with specialized software for comprehensive treatment planning. We can use 3D images in various ways, including to create great-fitting restorations, appliances, and prosthetics, like crowns, bridges, clear aligners, partials and dentures. Our iTero Scanner is also a handy way to perform a bite analysis, which is helpful when considering orthodontics, like Invisalign®, and more.
Ivoclar Laser:
Ivoclar Laser helps us painlessly treat gum disease, killing bacteria, repairing pockets between the teeth and gums and shortening recovery times. We can also use this amazing technology for esthetic gum recontouring to help correct a gummy smile. Lasers are safe and effective for a number of dental treatments and typically lead to superior outcomes, minimal swelling or bleeding, far fewer complications, and significantly faster healing.
We are proud of the technology we use and are always happy to answer questions about it to help patients better understand the tools we are using to improve their oral health. Patients who are interested in learning more about the dental technology in our office can call us at (608) 420-2185.
